Set against the picturesque shoreline and nostalgic views, Cameron & Kate’s timeless Santa Barbara wedding is full of inspiration for the modern, yet classic couple.
Searching for a Santa Barbara Wedding Florist
When Kate first contacted me through Zola, it was clear that she was looking for the right fit. She wanted someone who would bring her modern minimalist x old-money inspired vision to life. We scheduled a call to go over more of the details of her vision and how she wanted to see floral elevate it further! Kate wanted to bring the Moroccan interior design of Hotel Californian into focus. We based the color story off the signature black & white styling of the hotel.
Kate & Cameron really wanted to enhance the large arbor for their ceremony, which was a whopping 25 feet long! Our design team created a dense, yet lush display featuring premium white roses (a favorite of Kate’s), fluffy hydrangeas, and a new Japanese cultivar of carnation. By allocating a large portion of their budget to this impactful statement design, we were able to introduce a lush and luxury element that gave the ceremony an “old-money” aesthetic they love! I always encourage our couples to designate a significant percentage of their investment to a visually impactful design that elevates the overall experience!
The Details
I LOVED Kate’s gown… It was so regal, yet feminine and soft. It had an absolutely beautiful floral design texture. Her bridesmaids wore a modern, A-line black satin gown. We paired their all-white bridesmaid bouquets with a sheer silk black ribbon from Honeysilks to add texture and allure.
The Reception
We floated some styles for the reception table design during planning. Kate & Cameron ultimately loved the idea of a heavy arrangement of rose bud vases and mixed candleware. We sourced a really beautiful smoke-colored ribbed votive to compliment the black detail of the menus & textiles. Adding a narrow clear votive to embrace the style of the bud vases, the table design was elevated immensely.
Together with their incredible photography team, Michael & Anna Costa, the newlyweds took some time for themselves during the festivities. They strolled through town and captured the warm sunset glow on the cityscape in their couple’s portraits. Such a great way to incorporate some more beautiful backdrops of the surrounding areas!
