Chanelle & Billy: Northern California Wedding

It was a week before Chanelle and Billy’s Northern CA wedding, and as their florist, I was preparing to pick up their flowers to begin designing for the large ceremony and reception that was planned. Just days before their wedding was scheduled in Foresthill we were all suddenly blindsided by the Covid-19 stay at home order that was issued at the end of March. We were devastated this was happening to such a wonderful couple we had spent months working with on a beautiful and whimsical wedding style. Chanelle was so excited to be planning her wedding flowers!

At that point, they made the difficult choice to postpone their large celebration in Foresthill until 2022 in the name of safety. After a few months went by, Chanelle got in touch, expressing interest in eloping in the same area they were to be married with only immediate family present, in accordance with the state gathering restrictions. They still planned on celebrating their wedding in 2022 with extended family and friends, but were so looking forward to starting their life as husband and wife, they decided eloping was the next best choice!

Ten days before we had to cancel (and I was so devastated), Autumn went above and beyond to work with my shifting wedding experience. She worked with me every step of the way and was able to make my wedding the most beautiful and memorable experience of my life.

Chanelle’s testimonial

It was such a beautiful day, though far from what they had originally planned. Chanelle and Billy, like many couples who have been struggling to plan a wedding through Covid-19, were so grateful and joyous to be celebrating their love with those who meant the most to them. Delivering the flowers to the private location for their Foresthill elopement was such a joyful experience for me since this was the first event we had serviced since the lockdown. It was so wonderful to see the happiness on Chanelle’s face upon bringing in her bouquet and the excitement in her voice about the day ahead!

Chanelle chose to take advantage of planning more than one wedding and elected to go with an entirely different ethereal color palette, while paying homage to her original choice of cool shades of purple by including fresh lavender stems in her bouquet. I designed a lush and elegantly wild bridal bouquet for her and boutonnieres to match for Billy, their son, and the father of the bride.

Thank you Chanelle and Billy for letting us be a part of such a special day!

~Autumn

What can I say about Autumn? I actually am getting emotional thinking about the support, ideas, and compassion she provided me through my life as Covid-19 raged through my wedding. Ten days before we had to cancel, and I was so devastated. Autumn went above and beyond to work with my shifting wedding experience. She worked with me every step of the way and was able to making my wedding the most beautiful and memorable experience of my life. Thank you, Autumn, for your hard working spirit and your passion for your clients. It’s felt very much so by us. Ten out of 5 stars.
